Let's Get To Work

Alexandra Muscaro

Alexandra has been dramaturging in New York City since 2015.

Creating theatre is her passion. Alexandra believes that an artist’s greatest responsibility is to tell stories, and she takes that responsibility very seriously. History proves that storytelling has the power to change the world, and Alexandra views any role she has in that process as a gift.

In addition to being the proud Resident Dramaturg of Mixing it Up Productions, Alexandra is the Playwriting Consultant for the New York New Works Theatre Festival. She dramaturged the 2018 winning play A Pitch from Satchel Page. She also dramaturged the Marilyn Monroe Tribute show With Love, Marilyn that has been nationally touring since 2017 in conjunction with a current New York City run at Club Bonafide till 2020.

Alexandra has worked with an array of different types of playwrights, all with their own unique styles. In addition to musical theatre and straight plays, Alexandra has dramaturgical experience working in the Opera world, serving as the dramaturgical assistant on the St. Petersburg Opera’s production of The Magic Flute

Alexandra graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Theatre Arts concentrating in Theatre History and Performance Texts and a Minor in Musical Theatre. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida. She is also a member of The Dramatist Guild of America and The Recording Academy.

When she is not rehearsing, researching, or dramaturging a developing play, Alexandra can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art...specifically the Egyptian exhibit. But if it’s game night, you’ll find her at a crowded pub watching her beloved Tampa Bay Lighting!
